Olympic National Park protects 73 miles of the wildest coastline in the lower 48 states. The rugged shoreline is very picturesque with dense forests and many offshore islands and sea stacks. Access to much of this coastline is via lengthy hikes but Kalaloch, Rialto Beach and Ruby Beach where this image was created, provide easy short walks to the ocean.
In this image the sun found an opening in the clouds just before dipping below the horizon. I also found an opening; in a sea stack positioned just right for a foreground silhouette.
