This is another image from the largest lupine meadow I have ever seen - (for more background read the description accompanying image # CARD 135). This broader view includes the distant oak trees and spring green grass as well as the lupine. To fully represent the extent of this bloom I would have needed an aerial perspective. As it was, I was thrilled with what I saw from the edge of a gravel road.
